The Recirculation of Falsehood in Auroville In September of 2009 Pablo Bachelet made a statement intended to correct certain falsehoods and attempts to discredit his mother, Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet (Thea). One such falsehood was published on Alan Kazlev's web critique of Thea. He wrote: 'According to hearsay on auroconf, her son apparently wants nothing to do with his mother's eccentricities. I don't know the full story so I can't comment.' Once sent 'An Open Letter to Alan Kazlev and a Statement by Pablo Bachelet', Alan retracted this lie and appologized. Yet the lie apparently continues to circulate in Auroville. It recently resurfaced on RY Deshpande’s Mirror of Tomorrow blog, in a discussion about 'asura', when two Aurovillians began making fun of Thea's revelations about the reincarnation of Sri Aurobindo. The ridicule/lie was promptly erased by Deshpande. Aurovillians and others who have spread this falsehood should correct themselves. Lori Tompkins |
